Before we did the final shots during the night time, we decided that it was best if we got some practice in with the new camera. During the day time, problems due to lighting and availability were minimal so it would be the perfect time to experiment with any shots we thought could be problematic.
Moreover, we became aware of issues with shooting during the day which we could then fix before the final night time shots. For example, the zoomed out shot and sharper angle on the second picture allows for more distance to be travelled in the shot and therefore more tension to be raised.

18th March
We had to cut the previous day short as it was getting very late and we knew that we had today to continue filming, so that's exactly what we did today.

10th March
Today we filming some exterior shots during the day as a test for when it comes to filming it at night so that it takes less time to setup and prepare as we will already know what we need to do.
Also, an update on the camera situation: my home camera which we were using as a replacement was giving us terrible quality images so the previously shot scenes have been scrapped and instead we will film using the new camera, which we swapped with school, because it allows us to film exterior shots with a much higher quality and without a blue dot constantly on the display.

Makeup
Horror movies are often quite gory or violent. With our budget and planning we couldn't do anything too extreme so we relied on Rebecca's makeup skills to present believable scars and cuts. We wanted something similar to this:

Importance of Editing
Editing is the final step in the creation of a film. It involves putting all the video files togethor into a seamless and continuous story. During this time the director will often have input into his creative vision of how everything will come together. Sometimes, certain scenes will have been shot in different ways, angles or styles, and dialogue may vary between them.
This is also the point when special effects would be added. In recent years, special effects have developed extremely and an almost realistic image can often be generated by computer and added as an insert into the shot. Films such as Avatar (2009) was created almost entirely using green screens and computer generated image (CGI).
Minor effects such as lens flares, slow motion or image inserts can all be done using cheap or free software and therefore amateur film makers have a much wider variety of options than in the past.
Now, the market is so densely populated by films that have unnecessarily used special effects, it is surprising to see a new film that is using real props or models instead of CGI, which is a fresh breathe in film production.
